Tbh, I have my own thoughts on Korean skincare and I have for some time, due to my job, but I have always purchased European and Asian spf products because of the lack of white tint. What do you guys think? Am I an asshole for side-eying this? ![]() Of course she will be looking out for her brand at this time-as she should be-but being that she sells sunscreen that doesn’t qualify in the US-even as “outdated” as everyone says the qualifiers are-she herself is also biased in this regard. She’s pointing out that it could be fraud but also says that the brands should be tested by Korean labs for “objective results.” This could all be true. She rightly pointed out that other brands from outside and inside the US have failed their SPF claims. Obviously I feel for Liah Yoo, she is a Korean business owner in the skincare industry and I assume she must be getting horrible hate. I also think it’s a defense mechanism against 1) them having pushed Purito in the first place and 2) protect their bottom line, since they all have affiliations with Yesstyle and other associated brands. ![]() While I am sure, just like with everything there are people that are acting like assholes about it online, the skincare gurus have turned it into a way to lecture their fans. Tbh, I do not like the first round of spin from the skincare BGs who recommended and were sponsored by Purito (Hyram) is to automatically turn it around on their subs and followers and accuse us of xenophobia. It’s not a pass to let racism, bigotry, hate, etc. ![]() Hyram, Liah Yoo, and James Welsh all posted today saying that the Purito issue is not a reason to boycott Korean skincare or SPF or make misguided insults about South Korea.įirstly, I do agree that some iffy shit going on with Purito doesn’t mean you get to say insulting things about Korean skincare or goods, etc.
